For Parents and Caregivers
As parents and caregivers, it can be difficult to know how to respond when children experience worry, frustration, fear, anger, or other overwhelming emotions. This session will help families better understand how stress, anxiety, and other "big feelings" affect children's brains, bodies, and behavior.
Together, we will explore the science of the stress response and learn how emotions influence attention, learning, relationships, sleep, and behavior. Parents and caregivers will gain a deeper understanding of what is typical during different stages of development and when children may need additional support.
Participants will learn practical, relationship-based strategies that foster safety, connection, and emotional regulation. The session highlights simple, everyday practices that help calm the nervous system, strengthen resilience, and teach children healthy ways to recognize, express, and manage their emotions.
Families will leave with easy-to-use tools and strategies that can be applied immediately at home to help children navigate life's challenges with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of connection.
