Community of Practice- Stress and Trauma In Education


Join this drop-in virtual community of practice . We will discuss current strategies and practices to support mental health and well-being in students, staff, and caregivers through a trauma sensitive lens. Network with other educators who are doing this work. Bring resources to share, discussion topics and questions to this informal group.

Raising Resilient Children: Tools for Emotional Regulation (Virtual March 10 & 12 5:30-7:30 pm)

For Parents, Early Childhood and K12 Educators


Deepen your understanding of how stress, anxiety, and other “big feelings” affect children’s brains, bodies, and behavior. This session explores the science behind the stress response, helping participants recognize how overwhelming emotions can impact attention, learning, relationships, and self-control. 


Participants will learn to distinguish between typical developmental responses and signs that a child may be experiencing chronic stress or dysregulation.


Through practical, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate strategies, attendees will gain tools to support emotional regulation, build resilience, and create a sense of safety and connection. The training highlights everyday practices that help calm the nervous system, strengthen coping skills, and teach children how to identify and manage their emotions.


Participants will leave with ready-to-use strategies that can be applied immediately in classrooms, childcare settings, and homes to support children in navigating big feelings with confidence and resilience.

Well-being for All: 1 day training

Well-Being for All  is an inclusive framework designed to teach universal strategies that nurture the well-being of students, educators, and the adults who support them. Grounded in the science of stress and well-being, this model provides practical, research-based tools that can be applied across school and community settings.


At the heart of the model is the CARER Framework, which highlights five essential elements of well-being:

· Co-Regulation – Creating safety and calm through shared regulation.

· Authentic Relationships– Building trust and connection through genuine interactions.

· Resilience with Intentionality– Strengthening the ability to adapt and recover with purpose.

· Education and Empowerment– Expanding knowledge and skills to foster agency and growth.

· Responsibility and Repair– Encouraging accountability, healing, and restoration when harm occurs.


This framework can be delivered in a flexible series format, making it accessible for professional learning, family engagement, or whole-school initiatives.

Certification is available to help you prepare to lead engaging sessions that build capacity, strengthen staff resilience, and promote well-being across your school community.
